Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)
I want to remind you today that this is a part of our Christian DNA. Whether it is greeting someone with a smile, sharing an encouraging word, or lending a helping hand, Christian love is expressed through our kindness towards others. Think of kindness as an outward expression of a tender heart. If we struggle in this area then let us examine the condition of our heart. Remember believers, kindness is a fruit of the Spirit. So how can we as believers neglect such a powerful expression of God's love?
In this world, we spend most of our time, money, and energy to become whatever we want to be. Yet in the process, we either lose or overlook an essential part of who we are to be as Christians. That is to be kind! Now for some, this comes naturally but for others, we must work a little harder. Whatever the case, let's make an effort today to be kind to someone. Though this may require effort, I believe that being kind is worth it. So, today my friends, in a world of darkness sprinkle the light of kindness to someone.
Blessings,
Rev. Dr. Timothy Martin
